GrowingGreat began working with us, Leuzinger High School Environmental Careers Academy Green Alliance Club (ECAGA), in mid-September. We typically meet with Sharon Cohen, our lovely GrowingGreat Garden Educator, every week. Our club members dedicate their Wednesday afternoons to the garden with Sharon, where she teaches us new concepts and ideas, to improve our garden and gardening skills. She first taught us about Square Foot Gardening, which is a technique that is practiced in mostly urban areas where there is less space for agricultural purposes. The space is then divided into a square foot and before you even begin planting you must determine what plants can become beneficial companions and plan a planting grid. This will help establish order and help you plant with reassurance and confidence.

This year ECAGA is planning to have their own farmers market and we are excited about what our harvest will bring. Thanks, GrowingGreat!!
