First Graders’ “Love” and “Learn” Murals

On June 7, Deloitte Consulting volunteers rolled up their sleeves and joined us at two GrowingGreat partner sites for their annual Impact Day. Twenty volunteers came to Maple Primary Center in South Los Angeles where they helped kindergarten and first graders paint the two murals pictured above, read “The Watermelon Seed” by Greg Pizzoli to the children and snacked on watermelon chunks. And another twenty volunteers dug new garden beds outside the Environmental Charter Middle School campus in Inglewood. GrowingGreat is grateful to our Deloitte Jr. Board leaders – Katy Honda, Summer Morales and Akash Raman who organized this very special day.
