GrowingGreat Docents Receive Reduced Ticket Price for “Farm to Table” Benefit

On April 19, GrowingGreat docents and staff gathered at the Farmers Market with Manhattan Beach Mayor Mark Burton, School Board President Ellen Rosenberg, MB Environmental Programs Manager Sona Coffee, and MB Downtown Business and Professional Association Executive Director Kelly Stroman to celebrate Earth Week and thank our parent volunteers for the amazing work they do for children throughout the Los Angeles area. Parents from Wiseburn, Culver City, Palos Verdes, Los Angeles and Manhattan Beach school districts joined in the celebration. We welcomed special student guests from Environmental Charter High School in Lawndale who demonstrated a recipe from the GrowingGreat Chefs nutrition education program, and shared some delicious samples of a salad made from MB Farmers Market produce.
