“Farm to School” Tastings That Make Learning Delicious
GrowingGreat’s Harvest of the Month program introduces students to new foods that are supplied by local growers and Farmers Markets. The monthly tastings bring fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables to school cafeterias, seven times per year.
The program also provides fun facts about nutritional information for each fruit and vegetable served as well as seasonal recipes. Additionally, Harvest of the Month tastings encourage students and their families to shop seasonally at their local Farmers Markets.
Our Harvest of the Month tastings include:
- Asparagus
- Blood Oranges
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Pears
- Persimmons
- Swiss Chard
And many other mouthwatering fruits and vegetables!
